IN OWN WORDS:
“Despite the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual challenges and frustrations of living and working on a strange continent stricken with poverty and disease in the midst of strangers speaking strange tongues, our hearts are happy here. Every day presents an invitation to die to ourselves so that Christ may live in us. The mysteries of change & growth are fraught with mistakes, missteps, and mishaps. Maturing does not come easy. But even if one is faint of heart, it is certainly well worth it if one wants to be fully alive!”
This quote from Cardinal John Henry Newman sums up our experience in mission, “God has created me to do him some definite service; he has committed some work to me which he has not committed to another. I have my mission–I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next… I have a part in a great work; I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught. I shall do good, I shall do his work; I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own place, while not intending it, if I do but keep his commandments and serve him in my calling.”
